I was looking for a diamondback goby for the past week, but visited a few LFS today and they started stocking the two spot goby. After seeing how beautiful it looked, it took over me and I just had to purchase it. I had already understood it was as hard as keeping a mandarin goby, but I did it anyway!
Hoping to get a few questions answered from experienced owners and hopefully it survives!

- Quarantine - It's currently in my QT with no sand bed whatsoever. Although my 42g will have PLENTY(!!) of coral sand. Would it be wise to put a small container of coral sand from my DT for the two spot goby?
- Food - I understand copepods would be ideal, there are some in my DT but am trying to train it to eat other food. I was thinking if I place a 3" sandbed in a container, then place some pellets/frozen brine shrimp under the sand bed so it could get used to the food. Feasible?
- Copper - If the above doesn't work, and is still isn't eating in the QT. I would probably dose the QT with copper treatment to rid any parasites as soon as possible. Which would allow it to get into the DT where it would be more suitable, ASAP. I was thinking a 4 day QT in copper treatment for the Two Spot Goby then into the DT (plenty of sand and rocks, which is a more suitable environment)
- Pairs - Are they more suitable in pairs in the tank?
- Jumpers - I understand the diamond back goby are known to be jumpers, are the two spot goby any different?
