i come home and my wife has put a new fish in our tank. She was very disappointed when I told her it probably will not work. Day 3 it’s diging tunnels like a machine and turning the sand over has a great personality but I’m afraid it going to lead to heart break

Excuse my typo in goby lol

Why do you think it won't work?

Tank too small? No fuge? Not eating prepared foods?

Great looking little fish! Hopefully it keeps eating, I think it's fairly common for them to starve.

Yep, they’re a very challenging fish to keep long term even in bigger systems.

I’ve only ever known one person who succeeded over a couple of years but kept them in their own tank and trained them to eat various foods he would leave for them a few times a day.

It was a high maintenance system, but effective. In the end he had to move the pair to a DT and they eventually withered away.

Good luck with it, they’re a gorgeous little fish.

I was sorely tempted to bring one of these back from my LFS as they are just a gorgeous little fish. After wisely giving it a pass until I had a chance to do more research, I am really glad I did for the reasons mentioned above.
