I have a 20 gal tall and a 40 gallon breeder I want to connect to one sump. The height for each tank does not exceed 5 from floor and they are side by side on different stands. I plan on using one pump for both systems and was curious if anyone can suggest the proper pump?

I do plan on using gate valves going to and from the sump to both tanks. I also plan on using 1" PVC for each. I would like a DC pump so I can control the output some, so going a little bigger is not a big deal. I just don't want to buy a pump that is too small. Also I am looking for the pump to sit inside the sump . Thanks for any help or advice

I will buy a good one, just get confused calculating the head pressure of both tanks from the sump. This is why I was asking for advice for one with the proper gph.

You can always buy bigger and just bleed the excess back into the sump.
