Hi all,

I have a yellow and powder blue in a 175 DT.. Been in the tank for 1.5 years.. Been fine.. Eat fine.. Etc.. I just added a Ritterri nem and they both are hiding and not eating well at all.. I put the nem in on Friday and noticed the behavior yesterday.. They could have got stung but I don't see any marks.. Any ideas??

It is unlikely that disease came on an anemone unless it was attached to rock or something else. If so, it could well be velvet based on how fast this is acting. I certainly hope I am wrong. Any other symptoms?

Swimming in to powerheads? Hiding from light? Any spots? Breathing heavily? Cryptic behavior? Discoloration?

There was no rock with the nem.. Both are hiding more than they ever did.. And not eating the nori.. My blue is darting back and forth in a small amount area.. Colors look fine.. No sign of ich.. Breathing on the yellow seems rapid... And the yellows body seems to be rocking back and forth.. If that makes any sense

Sometimes lfs' have it in their system and they can get caught on the nem. I really hope that is not the case. Any spots on the tangs at all?

No spots.. Look fine.. Clowns are ok.. And my few other fish seem to be fine.. Just the two tangs

Even drops of water from an infected tank can transfer disease to your tank. I would get them out and leave the tank fishless. Velvet is running rampant in the hobby right now.

Have you checked for stray voltage (touched the water)?

Have you changed aquascaping at all?

Did you recently clean the glass where it was filthy before perhaps and now they see their reflection?

Is the water in good condition? Test for nitrates?

Salinity level?

Well the blue seems to be better.. My yellow is still hiding more than usual..

I have not gotten a volt meter to check.. But have touched the water with no issues.. Water 1.026, n 0.5, p 0.5, no changes in scape... I clean the glass every 6-7 days.. So no real changes except the nem.. Maybe they just need to adjust to their new tank mate?? Not sure.. Just going to keep an eye on it for now.. I guess??
