I don’t know whether to plumb my two Vectra L2’s internally or externally! System is an ELOS200XL (~255 gallons). If internal, ~7-8 months out of the year the heat won’t be a problem, ~6 months out of the year the heat would be welcome (less need for a heater), ~3-5 months out of the year might need a chiller if they put out a lot of heat (I have no idea what the heat load is, however). Suggestions are very welcome :)

External is easier if you need to do maintaince on the sump or the pump.
Heat can be offset somewhat with a fan blowing across the sump.

Just assume that whatever the wattage consumption of the pump = a comparably sized heater.

Think I’ll go external, thanks!

An external will leak when removing it for maintenance, so plan on how to control a few cups of water that are filling the pipes and volute. I set mine up with valves near the pump to minimize what drains out of the system.

Thanks, I’ll be using check valves a few cm from the output, should I also install some ball valves? I think I’ll also place them on a tray. Thanks for the heads up!
