I'm in the process of setting up a 40 breeder right now, and I can't decide on how many wavemakers to use. It is bare bottom so no worrying about sand storms. It will be SPS dominant as well. Would two smaller Jebaos such as the SOW-4 and SOW-8 be best? Or one SOW-16 or 20? I had two OW-4s in my 20 long and it was way too much. I swapped for a single larger OW and it worked out better for that setup.

Howdy @Sully32

40 breeders are always fun. I would do 2 pumps just for the fact you can maneuver both so to get every corner and avoid dead spots. I will deny saying this, but I would get the current USA eflux wavemakers. Pretty inexpensive, adjustable flow rate and type. Complete units. Reliable. Also , and just me, not a big fan of the Jebao
