Tying Radion to track with Zip Tie ??

Hey Guys,

Did you anyone of you tried radion using a zip-tie ?? I'm just thinking how about I zap a zip-tie from the holes on the top and tie to the rms track ? Do you think the plastic of the radion would hold ?

Just curious ...

A couple will likely hold yes. But may hit the fan.

You could , If you pull one of the screws , get a threaded eyelet.

I’d be worried about the zip tie getting brittle and breaking over time.

I used vhb backed Velcro to hold mine on top of the rails I built.

If you want to hang it the eye is the way to go. It would replace the existing screws on top. This is most likely in the manual.

On each corner of the light are screws with Allen heads.
If you pull them out and find an eye let, you can put the zip tie through the eyelet.

Depending on the rail you have , you may be able to find a stud, (double ended screw ) and just mount it to the rail.

If that’s not rms mount the bracket would still probably be a better option. It’s not worth saving 20$ to hang a 400$ light over saltwater on zip ties that can get brittle and break with age.

I hear you, I have 3 lights to hang so I'm kind of debating to invest 60$ in the brackets or do something by myself.

I like the mounts with the track. Preferred over the mounts clamped to the back wall.
