Is this hair algae? Ugly brown. What type of CUC extras can I add to help keep it in check?

I have 75 gallon mixed reef, 30 gallon sump/refugium. Only 3 months old now.

I have a Kole Tang and Starry Blenny who eat off rocks.

2 blue legged and 2 red Mexican Cortez.
2 Astrea snails
2 nassarius (who don't eat algae)
1 Cerith
1 nerite

Very small CUC but I'd rather grow it slowly and directed towards my tank growth.

Thanks!

What do you think about that link I sent ya, it's a whole lot of algae fixin ~ an option among many options but at least it's got a thousand after pics

If it's not the option for you, at least you now have a certain fix in the back pocket if other options don't pan out. The chances of the method removing your algae is 100%

That live rock has good potential once the primary producers are guided out, it will have nice color variances I can see

If you are wanting grazers to do the fix, a sea hare is a mower and can be traded back when done. It will require experimenting to find grazers that will wipe it all out but that's a natural option. Also need to get the scape cleaned up to assess any secondary hitchhikers, I'd like to make sure neomeris annulata isn't peeking out from the bottom right area. If that green growth is neo, actions need to be taken now. If it's not neo, no rush, the tank can stay in this condition until the right cuc is found.

I can't see the link in your signature. Here's a full tank shot.

that reef is savory, really clean. now im really slanted towards my offer just because it would take all of 10 mins to fix that algae right up. I do tend to favor it in all settings, that's fair, but this time for sure lol. the typical approach is to do something to the water, but only a small portion of your tank has the issue so im calling quick fix

just to simplify, my idea was to take out the bad rocks, hit them with peroxide, let sit in air 4 mins cooking, rinse off and put back and after pics in 36 hrs~!
feel free to research any other options im totally biased this way but it sure is neat to see algae one day and then not any by end of week on any of the test rocks...

You could easily have 10 cerith snails and that would be a good number. It's better to start off small on CUC instead of dump hundreds of snails which ppl still don't get is a bad idea. I'd say add 5-7 more cerith snails. They are IMO the best overall CUC snails. Also I have two red banded trochus snails and they are amazing at cleaning off my glass and LR

Thanks all! I'll pick a few more today.

Any thoughts on more hermits? What about an emerald crab or something similar?
