I have had this algae in my tank for a few months. It has stayed in the same area since i noticed it. I did trim it once "I thought it was something that might bite" and the upper portion if some what flimsy. The color is a pink/reddish color. I havent check my trates or phosphates lately cause everything seems to be going fine. I just wanted to know what this is and if its something i should be getting rid off. I thought maybe it was "Lobophora" but again not sure. Thanks guys! Please let me know if any other info is needed.

No its growing on the rock from the back. The dark red i believe is coralline. Its kinda flimsy, im guessing its some type of algae but i dont know. I did cut it before which is what i might do again.

+1 on red slime algae. My take has a couple of spots that look just like what you are showing.

I pulled a piece off. It feels a little rubbery/plasticie. I then brushed the rest off. If its cyano then it was in that spot but im not sure. From what i gather from pics on google cyano seems filmy, this wasnt.

Thanks. Its not out of control just in one spot that i can tell. I am going to be moving in a few months and now just looking for ideas of removal. i was thinking maybe the easiest would be using epoxy with super glue and placing it over the area? Or maybe not using that rock, i dont want to have a take over and cause alot of issues. thanks again.
