Found this critter in my tank this morning. Can anyone help me identify if this is a bristleworm and if it is good for my tank? I am new at the hobby.

Bristleworm.

Good CUC (Clean Up Crew) and my system has them.

Some folks prefer to get rid of them because they get creeped out by them. It basically comes down to personal preference. ;Happy

Although bristleworms are NOT welcomed in my tank, they are peaceful and generally unharmful, unless a nosy, curious fish runs into them and picks up some bristles.

Thank you!! I found 3 crawling around my sand bed this morning and thought they were fairly large for never seeing them in my tank before! I cringed a little because they are definitely not the prettiest of sights but if they can help clean, I’ll let them be until they get huge (if they do)

Any bristleworms longer than a toothpick gets taken out of my tank. The large ones really creep me out...luckily I’ve only had to remove one over the toothpick threshold

These ones are prettttty big. I’m so shocked I haven’t seen them before. Probably close to 3-1/2” long!
