Hi All,
We have some of the below pictures in our tanks. We have used the flatworm exit a couple times and didn't see any die off like most indicate we should be seeing. We are continuing to use it as recommended over a period of time, but we are starting to doubt.
In a "test", one drop of flatworm exit in 8oz of water with half a dozen of these has done absolutely nothing.
We have a Red Sea Max Nano for a tank that's been up and stable growing amazingly for at 4-5 months. Good corals, good fish and inverts balances. (not over populated and good levels across the board as we test minimally weekly on average.
We had added tiger pods to the tank a few weeks before we saw the first of these pop up. We want a stable/solid population of pods in our saltwater tanks! But we don't want flatworm invasions ruining our experiences and love of the work we put in!
We really have only seen them on the front glass of the tank. Nothing in the tank has seemed to be dying and we do have an acropora completely unaffected or attacked.
Are these actually flatworms? If so what kind? Good /Bad? How do we get rid of them? Is it even necessary to get rid of them? Control the populations?
Thank you!!
Synna
