Harmless, I understand, even though a bit freaky (very active swimmers when they go into the water column). Do you see 4 antennae?
Some kind of Polychaete. It may be a medusa worm based on what I think I am seeing on the head.
I am curious to see what Erin has to say. Can you get any more pics or are they already gone?Hmm, Googled images of the Medusa Worm…could be them, hard to tell, they are super small. But what I read, either way they are most likely harmless. Thanks for the insight.
I don't think it's a Medusa. They aren't polychaete worms, and the antennae go every which way. My bet is Dorvilleidae. I'd still toss them, but not the end of the world if they get into your DT.
