I got a frag of this from WWC. I’m not very familiar with it, but it looks like it’s a branching encruster? I’m not sure. Any tips on placement and how it might grow?

Looks to me like it is trying to plate, but you should be ok to watch it for a while and see what it tries to do. If it plates you want to put it in a spot where it won't shade corals underneath unless they are very low light or NPS.
