As some of you know, I really enjoy photographing the growth of my coral (even though I am not the best photographer, I use my phone). I thought I would share my growth with Tyree Pink Lemonade as I have done with a few of my other coral.
September 2012 to December 2013

Enjoy

THANKS FOR SHARING , WHA IS YOUR HUSBANDRY SCHEDULE LIKE - ANY ADDITIVES , TYPE OF SALT , ETC ....:yo:

The Pink Lemonade is in the middle of my tank about 12" down. I have MH and T5 lighting. MH are on for 6 hours a day and T5 are on for 12 hours. I keep ca and alk very stable using 2 part and dosing pumps. I aim for 8-9 on alk and 425-475 on ca. I keep mag above 1350. The only additives I use is loguls 2 drops a day, and kent marine coral vitae for when I get behind on water changes. I try to do water changes every 2-4 weeks, but sometimes get behind. I use Red Sea Coral Pro salt, and have been very happy with it. Honestly I think that most of my success comes from just keeping everything stable, my dosing pumps kick on every hour and a half to add a few mls of ca/alk, so its being added in just as fast as its being taken up by the sticks.

How you manage to use the pro salt and keep all under 9

It becomes diluted. I do 10-15g water changes with reef crystals in a 57g tank (90g system). The 10 gallons of RC at 11 dkh does not make much of a dent in the 80g of 9 dkh tank water.

I don't do more than 20% water change a month. I know the pro salt is high on alk and PH, but I have never had trouble with it.

So why not just use the regular redsea
I'm a believer of if it ain't broke don't fix it. I have been using coral pro for the past 3 years and have seen great growth, so I don't change. For this same reason I stick with my T5 MH combo instead of switching to LED. What I am doing works for me so I don't change. I believe that some hobbyist limit there success by changing what they use and how they run there tank too often that stability is never established for their coral. I see where your coming from regular red sea would be cheaper, but I know that coral pro works great (not that I attribute my growth to that salt alone, I just know that it works for what I want) so why change to regular or something else.

My frag right now, looks like your's did when you got it, hope it does as good as your has done :)

Nice job. The Pink Lemonade is a classic acro and still on of my favorites.

Yours looks like it has settled in nicely and is getting ready to really take off. I would be interested to see it in another 6 months to a year.

Great job, I agree with you about stability. K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple & stable) is what one of our local reefers says! Great growth!
