Hello my name is Tyrone. I’ve been on a 2 year hiatus from the hobby after accepting a new job. My last tank was a 90 gallon mixed reef.

I would get the Waterbox25, just for the extra 15 liters lol. You could use all the same equipment on the 25.

I should of considered the Waterbox 25. Hopefully next year my family and I will be moving into bigger place. I plan on upgrading to either a Reef Savvy 180 or Cade 1800.

I also need to update on some of my equipment that I listed. I have a Maxspect Gyre XF 130 but it quit working. I took it completely apart and cleaned it put back together but it still doesn’t work. So I tried to get a A.I. Nero 3 but they sell out quickly. I was able to get a Nero 5 which is a little over rated for my tank. As you can see in the picture above. I was able to adjust and turn down the flow to about 1000 gph. The light is a Kessil A500X. This is my first time using Kessil. I like the light but the app took me a little bit to figure out. The only thing I don’t like is I setup my light schedule. I don’t have it on while my tank is cycling. I bought the dongle for Wi-Fi capability but I can only connect to it when I’m at home. Unlike when I had my A. I Hydra 52 I could connect to the cloud as long as I had Wi-Fi to turn it off say like if a thunderstorm was in the area. Has anyone else with the Kessil A500X or A360 have this problem?

This past weekend I was with my father cleaning up my house to put the market. Well on my drive back home I stopped by Prestige Worldwide in Oklahoma City. I would beyond impressed with this LFS. I bought the Helfrichi fire fish you see below along with a scarlet cleaner shrimp and a tiger conch. I also ordered a small cleanup crew.

I did a water change yesterday September 18, 2022.
Here are my water parameters that I tested.
Salinity - 1.025
Phosphate - 0.43
Phosphorus LR - 200
Nitrite - 85
Alkalinity - 9dkh
All of these parameters were checked with Hanna checkers.
The only 2 that have me concerned are my Nitrite and Phosphate. I have two marine pure spheres and one chemipure blue bag in chamber 2. I’m if I should add one or two more marine pure spheres and chemipure blue bag?
I only have three fish in my tank two clownfish and a Helfrichi fire fish that I feed once every other day.

I recently purchased the Hanna Nitrate HR. I’ve tested a couple of times and would get the flashing 75. I also decided to buy some more marine pure, microbacter 7, K1 skimmer, and Nyos nitrate test kit. I ran my nitrate with my NYOS test kit and it measured at 25 ppm.
I recently lost my snowflake clownfish and dart fire fish. I just have a mean ocellaris clownfish, a mean condylutus anemone, and clean up crew.

Nice tank, I have a similar AIO setup. Your parameters as of September are definitely of interest to me. Have you tested ammonia? You might try GFO or phosguard for the high phos. I also run one chemipure blue bag and in my experience it hasn't helped me to control phosphates. Have you had invert deaths? Have you had all phases of algae? Im curious about how hot you're running that light. I also use kessils and they are 360x models and at 50 INT for me provides very high par values.

Last time I tested my phosphate it was low and my nitrates were off the charts for the Hanna HR checker. I’ve been keeping a log of my parameters with Reef Trace. The last I tested my phosphates was 30 October 2022 with Hanna checker and measured 0.16. I recently lost a royal gamma and fire fish. I also plucked out two large hermit crabs that have been murdering some of snails. My Kessil I’m trying to run medium lighting. I want to add some SPS but from past experience I’m waiting till I start seeing my coraline take off and grow. I have a dragon soul torch, rainbow acan, purple trumpet coral, and orange jawbreaker mushroom right now.

My Kessil as I said I tried to setup for medium lighting so I don’t scorch my corals. My UV I have ramp up to 15. My Violet I ramp to as of high 15 and my CLR to 25. I’m running my lighting for 12 hours and I may adjust lighting again depending on how my corals react.

Maybe you can get your hands on a par meter, your lfs might let you borrow one, with a light that powerful it would be interesting to know where your at par wise especially if your going to add sps and use the acclimation feature. I’ve seen those 500 fixtures mounted on ceilings at several installations also looks like you have narrow reflector which is going to punch down hard to your substrate which I’m sure you already know. Test ammonia considering you have had some fish loss/snail loss

I’ll definitely consider buying a PAR meter. My nearest LFS is a 2 hour drive from where I live.

I noticed on my tank when the temperature gets to 80 degrees my dragon soul torch coral closes up. I’m considering buying a cooling fan.

So it been a while since I last posted. I have added a few new additions. Picture coming soon.
I now have 2 clowns, 2 coco feather dusters, and a gold maxima. I also have some new corals coming. I forgot to mention I recently lost my condylutus anemone. I noticed one day after I came home from work my condylutus anemone had moved to a spot close to one of my torch’s. Long story short the torch won. But the torch is completely bleached. My parameters have been pretty stable. Alkalinity today is 8.6. Nitrates last checked was 9.0. Phosphates last checked was 0.10. My temperature and salinity is 78 and 1.025. The only parameter that concerns me is my magnesium. I ordered the Hanna magnesium test kit when first came out. I didn’t use it and stored. I also ordered the correction reagent from BRS. I didn’t know they also changed the checker itself. I attempted to check my magnesium last night and got a flashing 1800. I’m going to call Saltwater Aquariums.com to see if I can get the updated magnesium checker. I also ordered the Aqua Forest magnesium test kit. I’m going to also order a ICP test.

Been a while since I’ve given an update on my tank. I recently went on vacation and my automatic feeder and feeding my corals coral foods shot my phosphates way up. So I’ve been testing my Nitrates and Phosphates about every three days. My nitrates were at 20 ppm and my phosphates are flashing over 2.50 ppm so I did immediate water change. I’m starting to have a few spots of hair algae but I’m slowly working on bringing my phosphates down. Last checked last night my nitrates are 13.8 and my phosphates are 2.07. I had two clownfish and I believe I killed them by not turning my protein skimmer back on after 30 minutes. I’m happy to report my tank looks good. I’m getting ready to move and I’m thinking about reaquascaping. I forgot to mention this past summer I had a pair of Helfrichi fire fish that I perished due to high temperature. I purchased a tunze aquawind fan and it keeps my tank at 76 to 77 degrees.
