The latest REEF Hobbyist magazine had a pic from Hoshitsutsu's reef with a beautiful deep red UCA Cherry Blossom. Is it really this red? Any others that look similar? As the UCA version is a bit hard to track down. :)

With the ability to manipulate digital images I have zero confidence in true colors being represented online these days. But maybe this one is an exception but I would have to see it in person. What can I say I'm a skeptic ;)
Which one is accurate, that one or this one? No way to tell these days. I miss film days lol

idk about that one but tck fire blossom is this red in person, not like the picture from tck as there is too much blue in theirs, but closer to the UCA picture for redness

it is a pretty crazy coral, but not hyped much. I lost mine when an urchin dropped it off my frag rack, probably gonna get another during the next tck sale myself

I'd have to see that one in person to believe it. The eggcrate and plug are not even the correct color. I've never seen purple / blue eggcrate or frag plugs

I said it is closer to the picture by UCA for the red color and not the one from TCK as they used too much blue

BC Gilligan, POTO Flamethrower, FarmerTy Ironman, and others are all similar coloration and the same species. They vary in shade of red.

BC Cricket Spine is the deepest, richest red coral I have seen. It has a similar color scheme but thinner branching, seems like a different coral to me:

I purchased this coral from this vendor just now for his Black Friday Sale. I will tell you when it comes next week which is correct.

Adam did tell me its the most Red SPS he has in his collection.

Here is the frag I purchased.

I just purchased a frag of this coral from this vendor for his Black Friday Sale. I will let you guys know which one is more accurate this week when it gets here.

Adam did say this was the most red Acropora in his collection so we will see.

If your talking about Adam from Battle then I'm pretty sure it will look that good or better. I'm confident he isn't one of the ones that intentionally tries to make corals look better than they really do.

No I am not talking about Adam at Battle Corals. I am talking about Adam at Frag Garage which is the vendor quoted in the original photo.

I still think you'll be be happy with it. That photo does not look heavily manipulated. At least it's not glowing like a lot of them.

EDIT : when I posted the image from the frag garage I was using it as an example of a image of the UCA Cherry Blossom that looked realistic compared the the photo of that coral in the magazine which to me does not look realistic. Sorry I just thought maybe you were thinking I said the frag garage photos looked heavily manipulated.

I've had all 3, though I lost the PC a while back.

The Cherry blossom is doing alright. I neglected it on a frag rack in low light so it has lost alot of color. When the Cherry Blossom showed up it was a darker red than the Maleficent.

Both are super nice. If your in Alberta I have 1 large frag of Maleficent available!

I would go Maleficent or Cherry Blossom for Red.

The Papi Chulo was more red than my Red Planet but more pink than my Maleficent.

These red/pink rosaria acropora are amazing and I am surprised we don’t see more in peoples tanks. They can be extremely red but that first image looks like it’s a little too red, but a stunning colony to say the least and I wouldn’t focus on the color at all. That colony is superb! The gold polyps top it off, I would love to see others pictures and I don’t care if they are uca lineage or not, almost all of these variants are stunning.
