Ufo lighting for cheato and how long do I run it for

I've recently bought a ufo light for my cheato and I've heard mixed reviews about how long to run it. I was going to turn it on an hour before dt lights sgut down and turn it off an hour after the lights come back on in the morning! Is this to long because the last thing I want is an algae bloom in my dt

I prefer a reverse cycle similar to what you described, helps stabilize PH at night, less fluctuation.

I do have my fuge light pop on before lights shut off for the night, but it shuts off at 6am, and this allows a period of darkness, which I prefer as I want to encourage pod reproduction.

Some people do even run fuge lights 24/7, many that keep caulerpa do this to keep it from going sexual.

I prefer chaeto.

Ok thank you so my running time for fuge light will from 8.30pm until 8am, does that sound ok? I read something else that if you leave it on longer than 4 hours it will cause an algae bloom in the display tank
Have you heard off this before. I've also got cheato as I heard it was the best to have. Many thanks

Well, your macro growth should be absorbing nutrients and hopefully not cause any type of algae bloom or anything, but that can come on it's own regardless of light schedule on sump, bit more to that.

I'd say 12 hour reverse schedule should be fine.
