Ughhhh!!! Help please?!

Well Ill prob get It tommorow then. I guess its worth a shot considering all the money I have in fish. In amazed at how he continues to gulp down food even though hes almost completey cover in dots and scrathes from rocks.

I would if I could, trust me he was 85$ wont be makin this mistake again. I hope he makes it though

Ich be gone with garlic natural and reef riendly

Ive never dealt with ich but i here theres a garlic liquid for fish that make the ich go away and its reef friendly.you usually treat their food with it and then feed fish coral etc.

I wouldn't waste your money on Kick Ich. There are no "reef safe" treatments for Cryptocaryon. If you want to rid your DT of the parasite, you must remove all fish and treat them in a dedicated HT and leave the tank fallow for 72 days. Treatment options include: copper (e.g. Cupramine), chloroquine phosphate or tank transfer. Hyposalinity is another option, but it can be tricky to pull off due to the precision required in keeping a SG of 1.009 for an extended period of time. Without treatment, the parasite will continue to multiply and overwhelm your livestock, as you are already beginning to experience.

I think most of the fish will be able to fight it. And if some lps die I would rather leg that happen then the fish. But I know thats the only way to get my system ich free...I just cant do it, trust me if I could I wouldve had a qt setup a while ago. I did setup one for a while but the tang was doing really bad in such a small water volume. In hoping the kicn ich will atleast help the fish can become immune to it (If they can) and I f2f I lose a couple fish, I think it will be better than losing everything thing but heres a question. If all the fish ( disregarding any fish that could not and died) were able to fight it off and live fro lets say 72 days ich free, would ich still be in my tank then, if the fish showed absoluteley no signs?

From the article linked above, "Fish that survive a Cryptocaryon infection develop immunity, which can prevent significant disease for up to 6 months (Burgess 1992; Burgess and Matthews 1995). However, these survivors may act as carriers and provide a reservoir for future outbreaks (Colorni and Burgess 1997)."

So, to answer your question, yes.

Oh ok, i didn't see that. So I would probably have to wait a year to be sure there wasnt any more ich in the tank? Before risking adding more ich after qt?

No, you misunderstand the nature of the parasite. It will continue its life cycle in the presence of fish until a.) there are no more fish to infect or b.) its life cycle is broken via treatment or removal of fish.

Oh I see. Ill have to setup a qt at some point then. I looked over the article amd saw where it said " most medications target the ich in the free swimming stage. If I continue to add this for a long time would it eliminate it because I think that ich eventually has to go throught that stage to reproduce right? Im prob wrong though somewhere.

ALSO TRY CLEANER WRASSE GET A COUPLE THEY LIKE TO EAT PARASITES OFF FISH BUT THEY WOULD RATHER HAVE THE FISH COME TO THEM.COPPER TREATMENTS ARE BAD FOR REEF TANKS IDE START FEEDING IT THE GARLIC TREATMENT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE WHILE HES STILL EAting.

Maybe. If Kick Ich actually worked, no one would ever have to worry about Cryptocaryon (ich) ever again. A reef safe treatment is the holy grail for reefkeeping, but so far no one has discovered it. Like I said, save your money and do it right. :)

Neither garlic nor cleaner wrasses will do anything to cure ich.

Deinonych is giving you sound advice and information. There is no reef safe treatment for ich. Without treating and going fallow for 10-12 weeks the DT will remain infected. The parasite is burrowed in to the animal, cleaners can not get to it. Even if they could the probability of getting them all is zip. Good luck.
