At what age in the tanks life do the normal uglies become tank issues. My tank is 8 months old and I am coming off a battle with Dino’s and cyano I’m also seeing a little bit of hair algae pop up easily managed with cuc and manual removal. I didn’t really have any uglies till 7 months and I am just wondering if these are still in the window of the normal ups and downs of a new tank

Uglies can pop up at anytime. The goal is to establish so much competition within an established tank that things like nuisance algae or dinos simply can't gain a foothold. If the current dominant critters are provided water parameters that no longer favor them, often hair algae or dinos will capitalize on that take off.

Depends on a lot of factors. Do you run a UV?
I started running one once Dino’s popped up which was caused by a 10 day vacation where my nitrate and phosphate bottomed out

My ugly phase didn't wrap up until close to a year old. 5 years later I'll still get algae or cyano here or there.

It depends on type and cause.
Cyano can derive from elevated Phosphate and nitrate
Dinoflagellates from Low to no no2 and po4
Diatoms from silicated
Algaes from excess light and nutrients

The starting point is cause then cure. I rarely get uglies and if I do, I react with light adjust, cleaner crew etc ans its kept to a minimum

while diatoms are, dino's aren't "uglies" imo.
it certainly depends on the strain but there are hobbyists that shut their systems down due to them and unlike diatoms doing nothing will not resolve dinos.
