I had one of my lights on for a week. Had no issues. Just this morning turned on my second. I is over my feeding area. Now I am paying for my over feeding habits. Have the inevitable brown algae not bad yet we will see. No coral yet. Just wondering on opinion. BRS says just let it go. Should I follow that advice? Also if I do does anyone have any idea how long it last's ?

Tank is cycled ( fishless ) lights have been off for 4 months Finally received my Apogee and so lights are on now. Sorry for the blue appearance best I can do with phone. Just that small are with the brown algae we

You should let it ride. Could get some CUC to help.

That said, why are your lights on? I don't see anything in the tank that needs them to survive.

I have a shy yellow Tang, and 2 shy clowns, The lights are on because I received my Apogee meter and am going to start mapping, and then its Coral time. That's why I need to know about the algae want it gone before I add coral. What is CUC?

CUC means clean up crew. Snails, hermits, etc...

You're not going to completely get rid of algae. If you have lights on and ANY nutrients, you're gonna have algae. The 'fix' is to get fish that eat algae or a CUC to get rid of it for you.
