I got this reef for 18 months. Never cleaned the sand.

The sandbed is Aragonite 2mm with 1'' height.

I thought it was coralline algae in the sand, but i'm not sure anymore, it looks really ugly!

Nitrates and phosphates 0

I showed this picture to a LRS owner and he think it might be a silicate spike. I never tested for silicate.

I used to use a RODI water (14 in TDS) it was a really bad resin. I changed the resin 10 days ago and the TDS is zero now! :)

Anybody Help Please?

Never been a fan of sandbeds but I find keeping a light sand bed is easier to keep clean need lots of sifters or do it mannually.

It looks like coralline algae but the picture isn’t that clear to be honest, well to my eyes anyway!

Ive never cleaned the sand bed in either of my tanks, it’s part of the biological filtration in the system.

300 sandbed restorations. all skip cycle reassemblies

we take apart the tank
hold stuff in buckets
access sand, rinse it 100% cloud free and not 98%
reassemble a cloudless skip cycle system.
over and over and over

I see one spot of something I cant make out. I see a lot of red spots that might be cyano. Just take out that one thing.
The rest of your issues could be addressed with a good maintance schedule.
