I've been sitting on the tank as it is, as I figure patience is probably the key to beating the "ugly stage", but I was also to see if there was anything I could do to help the tank along in some form or another.
The main things I had been considering were Conches and adding Corals, the former to help the substrate and because I just like em and the latter might help with providing competition with nitrates.
Tank's been up since late October this year.
Current livestock is 2 Banggai Cardinals, 2 Skunk Cleaner Shrimp and a Red Hair Macroalgae.
I am currently in process of doing a water change and did suck up some of the stuff earlier, but tried to focus on what was on the glass, as I figure manually removing all the brown gunk just simply reduces the biomass that is "burning off" whatever caused it in the first place.
