Ugly stage I assume

Can diatoms be stingy or hair like? Stuff looks a lot like the normal brown diatoms I had when I first cycled my tank but this is kinda stringy or hair like. It’s mostly on the sand bed with a lil on the glass and filter intake. Def not gha and it doesn’t seem like dinos based on research. Tank is 5 months old, parameters have been stable for a while now. I guess I just worry to much. Getting good pics with an iPhone is quite difficult

I get brown stringy algae from time to time, and its not dinos. Not sure exactly what it is or what causes it as my tank is pretty mature and stable and just randomly happens. I just turkey baster/tooth brush it off for a few days and it goes away.

Some pictures would help - and the 'ugly stage' to me is a myth - depending on how you set up your tank. It would be great to know your parameters - when you set up your tank, how you did it, how large, etc etc
