Ugly Stage

My tank has been cycled and I have added my first few fish over the weeks. A pair of clowns and a royal gramma. My entire tank has kinda turned a brown color, the substrate and rocks and glass. I added some Hermit crabs and snails to help, but the brown algae that grows on the glass is relentless. I can scrap it off and it comes back in 4 hours or so, like I never did anything. Is this normal? should it slow down after a while?

we could really use a picture to know what kind of algae you're dealing with.
Sorry. I added a video, thanks! It's kinda hard to see but the sand is usually white and now its just brown
 
sorry, but its still difficult to see. it looks like it might be just diatoms. Does it look more like powdery brown dust that settles on things rather than algae? if so, just let it ride. it'll go away on its own in a few days to a week.

Yes it is more like a powdery brown dust, Whenever I use my flipper to scrub it off, it kinda looks like dust going into the water. Thanks for the info.
