uh oh the power went out

some storms came through this area this morning and I woke up to a loud clap and no power I'm curious to how long can my tank set without any power running the pumps and lights before I need to start being worried about it I don't have any auxiliary power supply,,do I need to run out to Home Depot and by a generator?

Watch your temp and stir your water now and then so the fish have fresh air. I've gone without power for 12 hours but I would start stressing after an hour

If there is a good LFS near you...call and ask if they sell battery powered air pumps. If so, grab one (or a few depending on tank size) and some air stones. That will replace oxygen in the water. Also, regarding tank temps, too hot is worse than too cold. Cold = slow metabolic rate......heat = death. I keep a 1000W generator in my garage for occasions such as this.
