FD8BF813-9A30-4E38-86C6-A8B834B78818.jpeg So lately, my dad has been turning on the tank light in the morning and finding this weird polyp star thing. He tried showing it to me and it had retracted after a few minutes from the light. He said he thought it was a part of the Xenia I just got but it wouldn’t have a polyp sprout that far so soon (I assume). Is this ok? What is it? It’s clear with little white dogs at the end- it’s a bit hard to see bc of its weird characteristics.

I would almost say that's a glass anemone. Aptasia. But, I will defer to #reefsquad because it's weird looking to be one.

Looks more like a ball anemone than an Aiptasia to me. Aiptasia would not have those balls on the tips of it's tentacles.

I suspect it came in as a hitchhiker on your liverock.

Agree on ball anemone. Harmless. I have some that have a tint of orange in them.
