You can't see how bad it is but it's dusty like and grows back so quick it's scaring me. Can you guys help? Thanks

I have a 90 gallon with a skimmer wet dry filter lots of flow and LEDS on for 10 hours.

I was given an anemone and I've managed to keep it alive and healthy even with this horrible outbreak. I do 50-60% water changes every week, sometimes twice a week and I have a light bioload.
This thing managed to kill my green star polyp even after dusting it off with a turkey baster. My tank is still only 3 months old.

I see a lot of diatoms so I'm curious about what your parameters are, specifically nitrite, nitrate and phosphate.

What sort of water are you using for water changes? Tap, RODI, or premixed saltwater from the LFS?

50-60% every week is a lot as well, I think most folks recommend around 15-25% weekly on newer tanks.

Also, is your water cloudy?

Hi Nautical-Nathaniel
Yeah RoDI water. My Nitrates and Nitrites are .5 and right below .25, so I use prime every few days to protect the life I have (mostly invertebrates).
My phosphates are not quite .25. I have been using no3 po4 x very carefully and still really nothing has come out of it in the last four or five days.

I change the water because I have no idea what else I can do to prevent a total disaster like my anemone dying and killing everything. Plus she seems happiest after a big water change. She glows.

At the end of the day is worse and full of bubbles?

The skimmer does nothing but bubble a d the bubbles turn to a thick sludge... I also have a UV filter in the wet dry filter ... That helps a little but not enough. At the end of the day the water is tolerable.. that's the only word for it. The high flow probably keeps the water oxygenated. But I don't see bubbles at the top of the water. I also see thousands of tiny white buggy type creatures. They are super tiny and fast swimmers when they are bigger.

Some pictures are hard to see but that green is cyanobacteria and I do not see anything that looks like dinos that I can make out.

If you have cyano you will most likely not have dinos at the sane time.

Is the tank new? Cyano is the first thing usually in a new tank and then goes away.
