So I had an isolated rock with vermetid snails on it, and I moved it to QT so I could glue them shut and monitor for more. I just spotted this in my display, and it looks weird. At first I thought it was a very bright patch of coraline, but it has a tube. The other vermetid snails were a more drab brown. Is this another one of those stinking things, or something else? I thought I had removed the infested rock in time to prevent them spreading!

It does look like another vermetid tube
DANG IT. I'm doing a water change tomorrow- while the water level is lower, I'll reach down there and glue the sucker. I really don't want to let them get out of control! Are there any fish that eat them? My coris wrasse has been ignoring them.

Im unaware of fish that go after them.
When they were an issue in my tank, I'd just crush their tubes and make sure to forcefully scrape up the entire area of the tube. Seems to have worked in the long run.
I do wish you luck, they are annoying. ;)

Thats my fix, works well. Any strands that appear get traced back immediately and dug out
