Better pictures? I certainly can’t tell. The clear thing may be a reactor, but I certainly can’t tell what you’re holding.... I see suction cups. so submersible pump maybe

The thing in your hand is a wood airstone driven protein skimmer rated for 15-25gallons; they aren’t worth the trouble IMHO.
