Had a little patch on one side of tank, now I’ve got a few medium patches on the other side of the tank.

first assumption is cyano but I am not an expert, it just looks like something I had take over in a QT tank that was removed with 2 treatments of chemiclean, since you don't have much, I would just vacuum it off the rocks and see if it stays away

I agree. Looks like cyano, increase flow and siphon out religiously all areas and it should go away

Evening

All in order with the replies. So just wanted to say sorry. I hate that stuff.

Cyano- Increase water flow slightly and blow use with a turkey baster and scoop it up with a net or siphon away if a water change is needed.
I assume no RO water used? May be high phosphates. Test water to confirm. If it goes out of control, Chemi-clean is a great product to help with the battle.

Thank you all for the replies. I brushed it off and was happy to see how easy it was to remove. Flow adjusted. Fingers crossed.

@vetteguy53081 - I’ve been using just RO water. But the system is fairly new. Just a few mths in. That could explain it too i guess

Yes- very much associated with New tank syndrome

I’ve got 4 tanks running and this is the 1st I’m seeing of this type of growth. So I just wanted to check on here w my trustee R2R’ers :)
Week 7 of my newest tank and have it right now. Same applied to my drop off several months ago when it was new
