Hello! I really want to identify something I just found growing in my tank the other day. Is there a specific place to post a photo and ask that question? btw - hi. I'm Ashley and I guess I like fish.

You can post just about anywhere you want. Reef discussion would be good.

haha Hi and welcome to R2R. What are you trying to ID? There are different areas for different things, once we know what type of thing it is (coral, invert, fish, algae, etc) we can direct you to the right area.

it's this red thing. At first I thought it was a plant, but upon further investigation, it's kind of a lumpy baby.

Its either a sponge, tunicate, or macro algae. If its flat definitely a macro algae. If it has "breathing holes" its either a tunicate or sponge. BTW I strongly recommend killing that aptasia nem.

welcome !!!
Throw it in the sales section, LOL.
Anywhere is fine, it will always get moved for you if its in the wrong place.

I injected him last week with lemon juice, thought he was gone because he disappeared until the day I actually noticed that little red guy. I haven't been very proactive about killing any of them, unfortunately.

another question. is the anemone in the back also aptasia? it does not have a stalk, just comes out of these little round formations in the rocks.

Welcome to R2R!! That is an aiptasia in the back. I would kill them now before they get out of hand.
