I find it extremely hard to find any information for dummies with regards to how the Hydros system works, dumbed down to a level where i understand itI am quite heavily invested in Apex but I want to try the Hydros across the nano tanks i have in a different room.
I've never had any Apex gear so can't really compare them myself. This is my first dip into the world of controllers and found it pretty straight forward, coralvue has a plethora of info on their site about setting up schedules etc and anything you can't find there a quick Google tends to point you here.

The only thing I can fault it on (and you've probably had this yourself) is the Dosetronic occasionally goes offline mean having to turn it off/on again.
Paired with the Alkatronic it's great for stability as you can see below
