What on Earth has been going on with pricing in the UK for Neptune Systems products... Well certain products like the COR pumps, WAV pumps, and a couple of other bits, in the last 12 months while back in the USA there has been no price increase for the same products? Is this due to the UK dealers or Neptune Systems? If it was down to import surely the whole product stack would be affected yet that is not the case, is it just that the popular products at the time are seeing a price rise from one of the before mentioned parties? And you can certainly guarantee the price will never come down again, I feel the UK pricing does not truly reflect the value of the product as it's such a wild increase on its home sale prices. I totally understand shipping costs and import duty has to be factored into the costing but it's not like these items are shipped one at a time.

Will Neptune Systems be having a direct UK distributor now Brexit has gone ahead, if so any ideas who this may be? Or will it continue to be shipped via the Netherlands in th EU which probably will not help our cause in the UK. Terance, do you have any ideas on our UK plight? (Wonder if he'll see this).

I love my Apex, DÖS,WXM, 1Link and the DIY customisation offered, but as many have found the last 12 months to be financially tight I am suffering first world problems of not being able to currently afford my NS gear lol. I just would love things to be more sensible over here.

I don’t think it’s just Neptune products, its numerous products including construction materials and many other things

I’ve just checked the price of the ATK and it’s around £259, I’m sure I paid about £160 last year. And it’s no way worth that price against a Tunze Osmolator for example.

Brexit will have many consequences for the people who voted for it, but it is what it is now so...

I used to buy fish and corals from Masterfisch but they currently cannot supply the UK until they jump through many paper hoops.

And nearly £700 for Trident, personaly I don’t think so...

I know Neptune lost some hardware on one of the ships that lost a bunch of containers in rough seas last year. So increased demand, shortage of supplies, increased shipping costs. Shipping... Shipping... Shipping... Container shipping costs have increased over 3 times.

Neptune didn’t replace their UK distributor and chose to use DeJong in the Netherlands. They (DeJong/Neptune - delete as appropriate) also increased their UK prices significantly (despite denying doing so, even after providing screenshots when I was about to buy a Trident, additional DOS units and a 2016 brain). A Neptune rep’s response to this was to call me a liar and block myself and a number of UK customers from their support group, labelling it’s UK customer base as “moaners’.

Add to this the impact of Brexit, with additional shipping and taxes due (from US to EU and from EU to UK) and you can see why prices have increased additionally.

Apparently DeJong we’re looking at setting up in the UK, but I don’t believe this has happened yet. This may alleviate some of the price increases if the order and shipment come from and to a UK registered entity, so hope this happens.

Frankly the above was the final straw for me after the EB6/EB832 debacle and I have now bought a GHL Profilux Megaset, 2 x Doser 2.1’s, a KH Director, additional probe, a touch interface and will order an IonD as soon as released.

GHL did increase prices slightly as a direct result of Brexit, however nothing to the extent of Neptune’s before and after increases and on working this all out, I think I’ll actually be better off after selling my Neptune kit, especially if you consider the cost of adding dosing Units (GHL = 4 heads, vs DOS 2 per unit).

You pay your money and you take your choice. The GHL hardware is in a different league of quality vs the Neptune kit I have and makes it seem like plasticky toys from Hasbro. Have a search of some of the EB832 strip downs on this forum to see the component they are using. It was surprising to say the least.
