So in episode 14 of the ULM series they show an automatic water change system being added to the softy tank to provide a daily 3% water change. The only equipment they mention is the DOS dosing system, a level detector, and the 60 gallon storage tank for a salt water reservoir. Can someone explain exactly how this is working? Are they just using the dosing pump to suck 1.8 gallons out of the tank aquarium into a drain at the same time they are pumping 1.8 gallons of new salt water from the reservoir into the aquarium? If that is the case is there a need to calibrate the dos pump regularly? It seems like you would run into problems if they started pumping different amounts. Seems like I'm missing something.
Thanks for the help.
