I bought him a couple days ago and it latched towards bottom of tank. It seems fine but today I had a temp spike and it’s not looking as good. Can anyone tell me if he looks in bad shape so I can remove. Thanks

From the pictures he looks okay. He is going to need to settle back down but he should be okay.

Thanks man I appreciate it. For some reason when I take photos off iPhone with light on it takes them blue. Should I try giving him some Mysis?

I would squirt a little in his direction to see if he is interested but i wouldn't force anything. He is going to need to settle in and open up all the way before he will want food on the regular.

Looks fine. Get used to it looking weird at times. No need to feed at all, but I'd wait until it's looking happy again to try.

Thanks, Just wanted to make sure it was ok. Threw one Mysis shrimp at and he ate it. Opened up and looking a lot more vibrant. Guess I’m the one who’s gonna live with the fact that’s where it picked

I would stop feeding it and give it time to adjust to its new environment. Nems typically need to adjust their zooxanthellae population to the new lighting. Your nem may deflate and expel what looks like sticky brown strands. After a couple of weeks in the tank, you can try to feed it.

Did any other parameters change with the temp increase?

When I first put my RBTA into my tank it disappeared for 5 days. I looked everywhere. I even bought a mirror so I could check the backs of all my rocks. I never saw it, so it must have scrunched up really small to fit in a crack somewhere. On day 5 it popped up and looked awesome. I think just give it some time.

Ok thanks I just don’t want him to nuke everything I have. The temp changes have been weird. I shouldn’t of asked a pal to turn it up for me. The foot is still holding on.

I don’t pretend to be an anemone expert, however, I totally understand. When I put mine in I was terrified it would nuke the tank... and when I lost it I expected every morning to wake up to cloudy water and dead fish. In my research though I learned signs to be worried about.
1. Foot no longer attached
2. Tentacles no longer sticky
3. Foul smell coming from it
4. When touched disintegration

When an anemone nukes a tank it typically happens when they get stuck in a power head. If they just die they will spike ammonia. Which if your watch can easily be fixed.

Ammonia is spiking a bit what do you think from photo

If it's not attached to the rock, take it out and smell it. You'll know immediately if it's dead.

If it's not disintegrating or turning inside out, I would leave it alone and continue monitoring.

He still seems attached. Should I grab rock and smell ? I literally just got my Helfrichi firefish in too .....
