Ultrasonic Flowmeter

In one of Mark Callahans videos I saw him place a handheld device over some pvc and it displayed the flow rate. After doing some snooping around I am nearly positive this device he was using is called a ultrasonic flowmeter. Have any of you ever used these, was it accurate, which model did you use, can it do plastic tubing and pvc?

I'd like to monitor flow, I know apex makes flowmeters but I'd rather not be forced to put them everywhere and I have my doubts about apex quality/accuracy.

I haven’t seen this. Sounds interesting though! I’ve seen the apex ones too.

In theory they should work in all types of pipe given the proper transducer. I have looked at them in the past and got distracted. Would be worth trying as it beats cleaning an in pipe flow meter as well.

I have been looking into these recently and am also wondering if anyone has used them. If there is anyone out there with ultrasonic flow meter knowledge, please help us out!
