I have a Pax Bellum Arid N18 algae reactor. I'm considering trying growing ulva in it. My chateo seems to melt, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Has anyone done this before, and if so, with what result?

Nobody?

I HAAAAAAATE ULVAAAAAAAA!!!

Really? Why? I've grown it in a refugium for quite some time with no problems. Also, unlike chaeto, my rabbitfish loves it.

Try lowering the light output on the chaeto if it melts. Maybe too much light. My chaeto grows non stop in my reactor with dimmable lights on them

I can't adjust the brightness of my reactor--only shorten the photoperiod.

I lost alot of coral from ulva getting into my main tanks... was impossible to get rid of... I was ready to quit!!! When I hear people say they are trying to use it in a positive way... I cringe!!!

are you sure it was ulva? I’ve had it in my refugium for over a year, and feed live ulva in my main tank with no issues at all.

Yes, absolutely positive... known also as sea lettuce... any algae can thrive and Invade if not taken care of... in my case, I let it be and it quickly got out of hand... I lost a few $k in sps because it completely covered all my frags and smothered them out... Everyone has their nemesis algae they absolutely cant stand... in my case, I cant stand ulva... THE DEVILS LETTUCE !!!!!!!!

I actually tried growing Ulva in my N18 about 1.5 years ago. I recall it being too compact growing together that water flow could not get through evenly. This caused areas of die off in the ractor.
