My aquarium hasn't fully completed the initial cycle. The live rock in my refugium has developed some fuscia stains all around it. Could it be from the red chaeto? Or what happened to it?

I haven't checked my phosphate. I'm waiting on my kit in the mail. I'm not feeding at all. I'm using RO/DI water that's testing at 2 ppm on a Tds tester. The only thing that could be decaying is the gracileria in the sump worth the LR.it sure looks like Cyano. (which is actually bacteria, not algae). RU using RODI water? Have you checked your phosphate levels? Is there/could there be any decaying life on your rocks or in your sand? What is in your tank? RU feeding?
