Yes. They are the devil. They have sweeper nets and will multiply and infest your tank before you can blink if you broadcast feed anything with small particles.

I doubt there 1/8 inch long and thinner than a pin. My phones camera was on full zoom to take the pic. More like brown Spirobid's
But these little dudes stick straight out from the rock.
I will take a closer look at the few corals I transferred to my main DT today, but I did not see any except for one that
I found on a hammer that I scraped off.
The majority are on rocks that had no coral.
For the most part they were located mostly under the rock.
Not out in the open like I would expect them to be.
I plan to sterilize and cure these rocks again then.
24-48 hours in a bleach solution, followed up with a fresh water and prime two day soaking,, followed up with a pressure wash, and then a two week drying period. Should be nothing alive at that point.
Will add them to my sump after that.
Any other suggestions?

I half like them. They grow in my corals and cause the corals to grow on them, as each grows the corals for new branches instead of encrusting for months without forming branches. They're like branching stimulants
I hate them -- and I am not a hater. They can multiply like mad and irritate SPS, LPS and zoas.
They start very small but unmanaged can grow over 2". Their mucus nets reach another 2". I get at them with bone cutters and let the wrasses finish them off.

Yeah man, there's no way I could get rid of those things, but I've never seen any obvious harm from them so why not embrace a positive aspect

These are so amall I dont think bone cutters could get to them.
Like evetything in this hobby I am reading two sides.
Some say dont worry leave them be.

Here is a pic of some grown up vermetids. I have emeralds but they've underperformed in this capacity. My urchin did a little better, but can't get to them in the crevices.
