Ummm.... Weird Greenish Stuff

I’ve got this stuff suddenly showing up in relatively large clumps around my tank. The photos don’t show color accurately, but these growths are a sorta pale greenish color and are fairly solid. Anytime there’s something in my tank that I didn’t put there, bad things happen. All stats are great and no other problems... except for the usual. I’ve kept Reef tanks since ‘86, but my “new” tank is throwing me curves.
Please advise.

Could be some sort of sponges. What are the stats exactly?

It does look like sponges. Those look like tubes coming out form it. Is that correct?

Yeah they are tubes... I’ve never had sponges as hitchhikers. Didn’t know that was possible. Weird. Thought it would be gelatin like, but it’s a solid like mass.

There are sponges as big as cars, I hope I get on if those one day.

Prettty much why I'm still in the hobby , it's the gift that keeps on giving.

Those are sponges, you can find them in different colors, my tank has a lot of purple, orange, yellow and white ones, they use to appear on thw low flow areas, they don't like to be expose to the air as well

Yep those are sponges. I have the same kind in my tank, I believe they are Clathrina sponges.
