So my tank has been acting weird this evening.

14g biocube. Just changed the media a few days ago.
I did a 1 gallon water change hoping for the best tomorrow morning.

I went in tonight after the lights where off and I found this thing under an overhang on my live rock.

I snapped some still shots, and then started a video where one of my clowns got next to it, and it looks like it got stung????
Any ideas what it is??

Pic is blurry it looks like ball anemone.
Just looked it up, and you are spot on!!! I appreciate you replying so quickly!
From the short research I’ve done, i have seen multiple people say no need to kill it off?

what are your thoughts?

The picture is pretty blurry but most likely aptasia. Read some threads to get rid of them and nip it in the butt now. They will spread and when broken spread faster. They will survive in poor water conditions. Probably came with the rock it’s on. It’s not going to kill your tank but it is a nuisance and ugly. As for the fish maybe???? I don’t remember if they do but it won’t kill the fish.

I hope he’s correct but you should still look up the aptasia they can both be incorrectly identified as each other.

Only reason I assume it was a ball anemone is because it has what appears to be tips coming out from the rock that seem to reflect like I’ve seen in some other photos on Google. I think I may just go ahead and get aptasia x and nip it in the butt while it’s bearable.

Agree, they are not like aiptasia. Won't grow to plague proportions.
