hello everyone! i have several coral troughs in a very caustic environment. troughs are roughly 24" x 96" x 10" deep. i need to light these troughs with something that wont rust or corrode away immediately. i keep some clams and corals in these systems and currently illuminate them with some old 250w DE halides. i would like to use LEDs, but need something simple. fan cooled LEDs will corrode. i need something water resistant/proof. simple in design (think on/off, no weather or ramp up/down programs.)

what are some lighting options i could use for these troughs? know anywhere that makes custom light systems? what about unconventional lighting options like what you could find at a home depot?

spitball all your ideas!

What are you growing in a "very caustic environment"? Lol

You can use waterproof T5 ends and you should be good to go.

Unconventional... ;)

heat sink looks oddly similar to their coralcare..

sadly.. more square than long...

longer ones..

Personally it's probably more cost effective to build cheap light bars on aluminum stock and replace as needed...

Power supplies and drivers can all be "remote" and only thing really exposed is the led's and wiring..
both of which would be fairly easy to "waterproof"...

Pick the right aluminum and drivers, no need for fans..
cover diodes w/ silicone lenses....
