Just realized that we're on @MarsRover thread.
Pea and Nut have already pulled a patent on "Gel-Reef" & "Gel-Capsules" reef salt mix, so everyone else can just... Back Off!!!

Howdy Pea, glad you two like my temp lighting They are actually my new Kessil-spec scuba diving lights. True 20k reef lighting at depth!!!

Bear in mind that alk of 5.6 dKH at a sg of 1.010 will jump to 15 dKH at 35 ppt salinity (sg = 1.0264) if you just concentrate it down.

Roger dodger. So then do you recommend I nuke the dKH now with hydrochloric acid? Or wait for my salt to arrive wednesday, bring the tank up to 35ppt, and then deal with the dKH then?

I'd wait to do anything about the alk until it gets substantially higher. Ammonia cycling will tend to lower it.

All, I have been at a sal of 1.026 for several days now. Retested the water, and it's looking pretty alright! dKH is a little low if anything.....

I think it's time to get some ammonia.....
