uncured silicone toxic ???

The silicone seal holding the aquascape together has been underwater since I first filled the tank. Does this mean the silicone sealant will never cure underwater and always be toxic so I have to drain the tank water and so all the sealant can be exposed to air and dry out for like a week?

It should cure. Just may have taken longer. I have no idea the length though as curing silicone under water isn’t something normally done.

For gluing frags you just need plain super glue gel. Most department and hardware stores sell it.

Just drained the cycling tank so there all of the silicone above water to try. I have heard of products that can reduce the curing rate of silicone from weeks to 15 minutes (which would let me rescape and fill back up with water immediately.)

You could just remove the silicone and replace it with a proper binder like this. It cures faster outside of water. If you use A LOT in the water it can alter pH a bit. Not a huge issue if you have fish/corals yet.

If you put super glue gel on each end of the ball when you work it into the rock... it is a bit easier to work with. Helps it initially stick while the epoxy cures.

It will cure hard like rock and corals and such can encrust over it.

the times i've done i don't believe I lost anything.
Will curing silicone affect my tank if its outside of the tank near it
