Try to decide which led light to use on mix reef 100gal mix reef tank tank has been up for about two years now Kissel 700 or Radion x30 pro the tank will also two t5 api blue plus bulbs
One fixture (of either option) wont be enough to adequately illuminate the tank. As for the options posted, the AP700 cant be run off of a controller but the Radions can be (if that is a factor going forward). The A360WEs are another Kessil option that would give you more flexibility in placement (as would the XR15 Pros). You may be able to get away with three of either of these options instead (guessing on your tank dimensions). The A360s can be run off a controller as well.
can you physically go see, feel and play around with them at some store? seeing them and playing with them can make all the difference in the decision making process.
I run a mixed tank of sps, lps, and softies in my 240 which is 34 inches tall. If your looking for price saving, some places still have them and they are now harder to find, but the current marine pros (60 degree lens) will easily be less than the 1000 price point now (normally 809 each ) and you would need two of them. I tried three on my tank and it was extreme overkill. The ic loop version won’t do what you need to if your running sps. The nice thing about the current marine pros is that you can run them by remote and with out a controller. The four presets that they come with are actually really good as well. They are very easy to set up and run, plus current’s customer service is beyond amazing. Current is coming out with a new marine pro that is even stronger than the 60 degree lens version but will have all of the Bluetooth and ic loop features as well. They do make these in a 36, 48 and 72 inch length. If you have two of them placed correctly you will have a lot more coverage and less shading than a puck design light. If you find the critical angle and sin and cosine for each light (I can help with math if needed), tou would have amazing coverage with these.
Here are some pics of them on my tank and my tank is only 9 months old. They do grow sps like crazy and the colors are nice as well.
