Okay guys so I'm going to show you guys how I built my own chaeto reactor.
Parts need for the job.
Spaghetti jar $ .99
2 1/2 barbed fittings $.59ea
2 1/2 threaded / smooth couplers w/ o-rings. $.49 and $.12 o-rings
1 4in o-ring for under cap. $.99
1/2 pvc had with end cap

Okay so I started by taking the cap off and using a step bit to drill the holes out to the desired size of the barbed fittings. After that was done I cut the PVC to 10 1/4 inches placed the end cap on and proceeded to drill a bunch of holes. So then grabbing the cap I place the two Barb fittings through the top with an o-ring on the threads through the bottom and screwing on the coupler. Using the 4 inch gasket I glued the gasket to the actual cap to ensure it will not move. The reactor I'm using does not require the mesh due to the fact that I am buildng it for algae. I did wrap some foam around the fittings just to ensure nothing would go back through the top. The hosing I used was 1/4 ID which I already had at the house and a small pump I had laying around.
The LEDs I will lite this Reactor with I got off eBay for $6 for a complete 15 foot set with the power cord this build was only to show you how to make the container. Before I started the project I bought the two fishes 550 reactor incase it didn't work. So now I have a spare reactor.
