underbite question

My Picasso clowns have under bites making them look like bulldogs... personally my wife and i like it as our dog has one as well so they fit in with family pets lol.
now is this hereditary? or if they breed will their little ones be normal?

Could be hereditary or could result from injury as fry. Did you receive them from the same breeder? If they are related this increases the chance its hereditary.
 
I think it makes them look tough! :) Agree if they came from the same breeder it is likely hereditary.
 
I have read somewhere this results from letting the fry push their noses against the side of he grow out tank for extended periods. Good news is it's not hereditary.
 
As already stated,....This happens often in the breeding program, also happens often as grow-out physical damage. Livestock sources should be culling, but often do not ($). There will usually be culls necessary in fry brood stock due to various hereditary issues and physical grow outs. Easy to say but tough to do when you see those adorable little darlings!
