Helloooooooo everybody

So day two of the tank, starting to have kind of small individual cobweb strands growing from my dry rock and floating about the tank. Not worried, just curious if its a good sign? My husband and I are actually quite curious lol

Thanks all!

I can try but its super duper fine, had to use the flashlight app on my phone to see it! Just a minute, husband is using his go-pro I bought him for xmas to try and snap a pic! Lol

Right so thats what's going on, not a big deal just curious!

Its probably some sort of cyno or other form of algae. But hard to imagine something lime that in just a few days. You sure it's not a hair off your head? Or something you've dropped in the tank? I duno. Ive only been here a month lol

I totally thought it was cat hair at first lol but then my husband pointed out that its in a few different places around the tank...Also I think there's like an actual little algae hair growing from the sand next to a "cobweb" (at least I can guess that much because my cats fur definitely isn't green!) So somethings happening in there!

did you rinse your sand well before you added it to the tank? It could just me an accumulation of debris from the sand or dust off the dry rock all that should have been well rinsed before adding to the tank.

Checking out the tank, there's more cobwebs...hmmm...

We did rinse the dry rock and sand, though I now think we didn't do that fantastic on the sand since it was so cloudy (still is a bit as well, ho hum)
We only started the tank up Sunday, surely things can't be that alive yet?

No to algae. There's no way in 2 days in a new tank. It looks like hair. Especially the first picture. Hair, lint, and whatever else. But if you have dry rock and sand...there's nothing else it could be. My vote is...HAIR.

They are 100% snails. Just watch out when grabbing the rock, they can cut you easily. I learned the hard way
