Underwater shots from St. Kitts, Caribbean

Hey guys & gals…..here’s some shots that were posted on my local Canadian reef board…. Our webmaster there recently moved back to the Caribbean, where he set up a 100% natural mixed reef 120gal tank….everything, I mean EVERTYHING in his tank came from his trips to the beach, reefs and lagoon…..

he posted these new underwater shots and included some images of zoas…..i figured y’all would love to see them, especially since he was able to capture what looks like PPEs!!!!

There is a vet school on St Kitts, if I'm too dumb to get in at Mizzou I'll be heading either there or Ross on St George's.

Sweet! I love how the pictures not only capture the corals, but the fauna and such that surround it. Makes me feel a bit better about my bubble alge.

I've never been to the Caribbean. It's on my list now.

ya know, one of the biggest things that would interest me is to get a picture of any coral out in the ocean like that, observe it in its natural habitat and lighting, and then collect that exact coral and bring it into an aquarium and see how the color/structure changes....that would be truely interesting to see.

i'm from the Caribbean...but man, the beaches i went to as a kid were not like that!!! hahah

now i'm sure...i'll either retire to Fiji or St. Kitts! LOL

man....thats insane all you gota do is walk out to a pier and find all that life!!

but he seems to be collecting anything at will........aren't there laws on what you can/cannot collect? btw....that nudibranch is crazy looking. good thing he put it back, it was probably destined for a powerhead.

Now i am not an authority, But the vested churches seem to be majority catholic. I have been to a good deal of those islands from the virgins over to jamaica. Eastern, western and southern caribbean. Every church i seen was catholic. But don't hold me as an authority as i am just going off what i saw. The sad part of it all i never dived in any of them. I was to drunk off the rum to think about it. LOL
The rest of the time there was eating and shopping with the wife.
Now when i go back i will have to dive.

I've been to a few places in the Caribbean (Bonaire, Grand Bahama, Cancun, Cozymel, Playa etc.), but have never been lucky enough to see nice zoa mats like that (well, plenty of Palythoa rugs, but they just look like those in one of the first pics.). I've got to get the VI in the list of places to visit... This is the second set of pics from the area (someone had a thread over on RC with some shots he took while snorkeling-PE's all over the place).
