So I have a 6” undulated triggerfish. I added a 3” undulated about 2 months ago and everyone said I was crazy putting them in the same tank. Well they were both the same color for the first month and a half. Well two weeks ago I noticed the smaller one changed from green blue and orange to green purple and orange. Then never attack each other and now I see them doing the twitchy “dance” that clownfish do when they pair. So my question is are they bonding?

Haha would still say you are crazy for doing it, happy it worked out. Have any videos of their twitch dance?

You may have gotten lucky and got a male and female; if that's the case, you may have some success provided there is nothing else in the tank, Fish psychology is very subjective; I've seen similar things with normally aggressive angels or tangs. Large size differences sometimes work; where as if they were of similar size, they'd challenge each other. And sometimes the large one just kills the small one, so go figure.
